National Sales Manager
Direct Supervisor: VP Sales & Marketing
Position Purpose: To achieve profitable revenue and margin growth.
Inspire and lead sales team to achievement of sales and margin goals.
Hold sales team accountable for their monthly execution of their individual sales plan. Coach and lead underperforming reps with alternative tactics and ideas to get them back on track.
Develop and implement a Sales training program.
Develop and manage sales plans to achieve revenue targets, gross margin targets, net income, and sales expense budgets. Review results on an on-going basis and take corrective action as required.
Develop and track an effective sales pipeline process.
Contributes to the development of company strategies to achieve company sales and profitability goals. Propose with business plan new channels of distribution for company to pursue.
Review the overall team capabilities and performance of the sales organization; make recommendations for changes. Analyze the individual sales members performance and make appropriate recommendations for improvements.
Recommend the trade show program participation, develop and monitor sales goals by trade show. Summarize and present results.
Make recommendations for Sales and Marketing programs.
On occasion and as appropriate make sales calls and respond to sales inquiries. Handle customer complaints and ensure complaints are resolved.
Ensure that Sales team is following all processes as outlined. Resolve or recommend exceptions.
Lead sales forecasting process.
Demonstrable ability to lead and influence a Sales team.
Experience in growing more than one business, and in building relationships with different kind of customers.
5-10 years in managing inside sales reps, outside sales reps, and sales agencies.
Experience with different size customers: Big Box, ecommerce, independents
Able to develop a training program, coach and train a team of high performers.
Experience in more than one of these markets: custom manufacturing, gift and souvenirs, outdoor, housewares or apparel
